A Study of the Subjective Quality of life in the Rural Residents - Focused on West areas of Chungnam Province -

Abstract
The Purpose of this study was to examine the subjective quality of life in the rural residents on west areas of Chungnam province.
The subjects were 1,226 persons on west areas of Chungnam province. Survey was conducted from July 12 to July 17, 2003, and the collected data were encoded and analyzed with SPSS Window 10.0 program. The measurement instrument was Korean WHOQOL-BREF(World Health Organization Quality of Life Assessment Instrument) which was consisted in the physical health, psychological health, social relationships, and living environment domain. Data were interpreted by frequency analysis, mean, standard deviation, chi-square test, t-test, ANOVA test, Duncan post Hoc test, and multiple regression analysis.
The major findings may be summarized as follows;
1. Monthly earns were very statistically significant difference in the all domain of quality of life(p£¼0.001). Also, sex, age, education and occupation were significantly significant.
2. Peoples living with patient were lower quality of life than the others. And the lower family sizes have, the higher social relationships in quality of life have.
3. Period of residence was statistically significant. difference in the social relationships of quality of life. Also, Residents living industrial complex area were lower life environment domain in quality of life than residents dwelling house area.
Consequently we will make an effort on improvement of quality of life in the rural residents. We found out that economic status is important factor in quality of life, so we will make opportunity to raise the farmhouse wifes¡¯ income. Also Peoples living with patient were lower quality of life than the others, we will effort to improvement of health of rural residents.
